The Delano City Council has rescheduled its regular meeting to Thursday, Feb 4 at 7 p.m.
The primary subject matter for Thursday’s meeting includes the Delano Heritage Center, proposed industrial park, and legal matters.
The Delano Heritage Center, located at Bridge Avenue and Second Street, will be a primary matter for the council.
The city received a grant from the State of Minnesota to reroof and install a fire suppression system in the building. With this grant in hand, the city’s historical preservation commission has worked with an architect to develop a long-term plan for the facility and a renovation plan.
The council will be presented with the commission’s work at Thursday’s meeting. The council will review the plans, and if agreeable, staff will request permission to proceed with soliciting bids for the roof and fire suppression work.
In other matters, city staff will present the council with a framework for initiating action on the northwest industrial park proposal.
The city, for the last few years, has been working with private landowners on a development plan to create additional land for industrial development.
Staff will present the city council with a scope of work to complete preliminary engineering work and prepare for construction of utilities.
Lastly, the city attorney will be in attendance to discuss two matters with the council, including an update on the eminent domain process with Leland & Sons Auto Repair and follow-up on the Northwest Interceptor lawsuit. Both matters will be handled in a closed session.
A complete agenda, with supporting data, is available online at the city’s web site (www.delano.mn.us), or available at city hall during regular business hours.
The Delano City Council meets regularly on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at Delano City Hall, 234 2nd Street North. The meetings begin at 7 p.m.
The regular council meetings are also broadcast live on Charter Cable Channel 12. The meetings are also rebroadcast at various times throughout the week.
