Rail traffic in Delano suspended for 16 hours

Rail traffic has been suspended for 16 hours again today as BNSF crews work to install a new abutment on the west side of the bridge.  Crews began work at 6 a.m. this morning and anticipate opening the track early this evening.  This is the second of three major track closures in this project.  The final abutment placement and subsequent track closure is scheduled for this Thursday.  The remaining work includes aesthetic improvements, site clean-up, and relatively minor work on the bridge.

The City of Delano will work to upload real time construction photos at www.twitter.com/cityofdelano. You do not need to have a “twitter” account to access and view the photos.  The photos will also be posted on the City of Delano’s web site.
