Luebke benefit auction, dinner set for Saturday
There will be a fundraiser for Dale Luebke of Delano Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Delano American Legion.
Luebke was injured in a motorcycle accident June 7, and is still going through therapy and medical care.
His injuries include brain trauma and some broken bones.
A pork roast dinner and silent auction will take place from 5 to 8 p.m., with music at 9 p.m.

Delano Ducks Unlimited banquet Thurs.
The Delano Ducks Unlimited Banquet will take place at the Rockford Township Hall, located on Dague Avenue, Thursday, Sept. 18.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner beginning at 7 p.m.
State of the School presented Thurs. at chamber
The Delano Area Chamber of Commerce will present a State of the School address from Delano Schools Superintendent Dr. John Sweet at its monthly meeting Thursday, Sept. 18 at noon at B’s on the River.
Lunch is $10. RSVP may be sent to jean@delanochamber.com by noon Wednesday, Sept. 17. Networking opportunities will be provided before and after the meeting.
Results are in for the primary election for the Wright County Commissioner third district seat, of which a large portion is the Delano area. Three names appeared on the ballot, with the top two advancing to the general election this fall.
Jack Russek, who is the incumbent, received the top number of votes with 631, followed by Matt Walker who received 475. These two will advance to the general election. The third contender, Jon Steinmetz, received 350 votes.
Filings closed at 5 p.m.Tuesday for city council seats and school board seats for the election this fall.
The Delano City Council has two seats up for election this year - those presently held by Holly Schrupp and Marc Plese. Both Schrupp and Plese refiled, as did Harlan Lewis, Lee Bunker, Derek Schansberg, Betsy Stolfa, and Janice Braegelmann-Schweiss.
For Delano School Board, four seats are up for election this fall, with four people having filed for positions on the board. Filings include Sam Nelson, Amy Johnson, Peter Brasket, and Sarah Gallagher, the last two of which are incumbents. The other two board positions are presently held by Kevin Max and Lorrie Mulholland who did not refile.

A Buffalo man who was a passenger in a two-car crash on Highway 12 Friday was hospitalized with serious injuries as the result of a crash west of Delano, according to the State Patrol.
Mark Klein, 46, of Buffalo is in critical condition from a rear-end crash that involved two drivers on Highway 12 near Wright County Road 14. Hailey Klein, 17, driving a 1990 Chevrolet Corsica was slowing and stopping to make a left hand turn onto Co. Rd. 14 when a Ford Freestar, driven by Crystal Simmang, 26, of Montrose rear-ended her.
