UPDATED: Minnesota State Patrol investigating double fatality accident in Montrose

MONTROSE, MN - The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a double fatality vehicle/pedestrian accident that took place in Montrose Friday at approximately 8:07 a.m., just west of the Highway 12/Highway 25 intersection in town. Assisting the state patrol at the scene included the Montrose Fire Department, Delano Fire Department, Wright County Sheriff’s Office, and Ridgeview Ambulance. Identities of persons involved have not yet been released by the state patrol. Watch this website and Monday’s Delano Herald Journal for more details when available.

UPDATE: Lt. Eric Roeske of the Minnesota State Patrol has released information via Twitter that a driver went off the road and struck a child who was waiting for the school bus. The vehicle rolled and the driver was also killed. Roeske was responding to the scene and will release more information upon his arrival.
