Local state park hosts junior naturalist cabin fever release

Looking for a way to break the grip of winter? Take part in the junior naturalist cabin fever release at Lake Maria State Park Saturday, March 13, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Aimed at younger children, the program will begin with a short hike that will reveal nature’s changes as the season moves from winter to spring, including animal tracking. This will be followed by an indoor coloring-book activity in the park’s nature center.
Participation is limited, so registration is required by calling the park at (763) 878-2325.
Coloring books, crayons, and refreshments will be provided free by the Friends of Lake Maria State Park.
There is a $5 vehicle entry fee for those without an annual permit.
The park is located approximately seven miles northwest of Monticello, 10 miles northeast of Annandale, and five miles north of Maple Lake, on Wright County Highway 111.
For directions and more information on events, call the park or visit its web site at www.mnstateparks.info.
