WAVERLY, MN – Former Wright County commissioner and cancer survivor Karla Heeter is the featured speaker for the Relay For Life “Hope MATTERS,” Team 7 p.m. Thursday, April 22 at St. Mary’s Fellowship Hall in Waverly.
Heeter is a local resident who is a well-known speaker nationwide, and is a cancer survivor herself.
Many enjoy her humorous look at everyday life. Refreshments will be served after, and a freewill offering accepted at the end of the evening.
Attendees will have the opportunity to decorate a luminary bag in honor or memory of a loved one whose life has been affected by cancer.
These bags will be sent up the night of the Relay For Life event in Delano Friday, July 30. There will also be a bake sale that evening.
The event is a fundraiser for the Relay for Life team. Local members include Herb, Theresa and Cory Ludwig and Brian and Pam Neaton.
