Joe McDonald of Delano recently received a National Photographic Award for his photo of Delano resident Mike Wanchena, titled “Tormented Soul.”
Each year, image creators from around the world submit photographs in the hopes that their images will be accepted into the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) International Photographic Exhibition.
From those accepted images, an exclusive few are selected for the PPA International Loan Collection. Only a small percentage of the total images submitted ever make it to this level.
“Taking part in print competition gives a photographer the opportunity to grow and excel at his or her craft. Because competition causes image creators to look at the details, participating in such competitions will make you a better photographer,” explained McDonald.
