DELANO, MN – Like so many other things, the 2021 FIRST Robotics Competition looks different due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“There are individual at-home competitions. We’re not even going to participate in those,” said Brad Felknor, who coaches the Orange Crush Robotics FRC 3026 team based at Delano High School along with Sue Duberstein.

In a “normal” year, FIRST would have announced the competition the first week of January, giving the teams six weeks to prepare.

Instead of preparing for competitions, the team is focused on the future. That is due, in part, to the youth of the team.
