DELANO, MN – Snowy and icy conditions contributed to a single-vehicle crash that injured a Greenfield man Tuesday evening.
According to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, a 2005 Nissan Titan truck driven by Ian Stewart, 33, of Greenfield, was eastbound on Wright County Road 17 when it slid across the road, struck a tree, bounced, and spun across the road until it came to rest in the road west of Third Street North.
Stewart had lost consciousness, but was conscious and in a passerby’s vehicle when a deputy arrived. The deputy reported Stewart appeared dazed and in shock, while two children in Stewart’s vehicle were not injured.
A family member arrived to care for the children, and Stewart was transported to Buffalo Hospital.
Stewart reported that he did not remember much about what happened before the crash. He believed he had been driving 30 to 35 mph, though the deputy suspected higher speeds based on the amount of damage to the vehicle, which was totaled and towed from the scene.
Delano Fire and Rescue and Ridgeview Ambulance assisted at the scene.
