Girl dies after running in hot weather in Wright Co.

WRIGHT COUNTY, MN – A 16-year-old girl is dead after collapsing during a run on Sunday in the hot weather conditions in Wright County, WCCO reported.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office responded to a medical emergency at about 9:34 a.m. on a bike path near Kady Avenue NE and 49th St. NE in the city of St. Michael. When authorities arrived, they found a 16-year-old female unresponsive who had collapsed during a run.

She was taken to New River Medical Center in Monticello, where she was later pronounced dead. Authorities said the name of the victim will likely be released sometime Monday.
