ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (AP) - A friend of UFC champion Brock Lesnar says the ultimate fighter is back at his home in Alexandria as he recovers from a bacterial infection in his intestinal track. Lesnar is a former Delano-area resident.
Larry Novotny tells KSAX-TV in Alexandria that Lesnar was released from a hospital in Bismarck Tuesday. Novotny, who is Lesnar’s chiropractor, says Lesnar had minor surgery and that he may require further surgery.
Novotny says decisions on Lesnar’s fighting career will be made once he’s further along in his recovery.
Lesnar grew up on a dairy farm in Webster, S.D., and is a former wrestler at Bismarck State College. He was an NCAA heavyweight wrestling champion, and later wrestled professionally with World Wrestling Entertainment Inc.
He announced last month he was withdrawing from his Nov. 21 UFC title defense match because of an unspecified illness.
