Encourage Dan Thaemert (car accident victim from Montrose)

danNEW GERMANY, MN – Those who are interested in encouraging car accident victim Dan Thaemert of Montrose may do so by visiting his Caring Bridge site at www.caringbridge.org/visit/danthaemert. His family firmly believes in the power of prayer, and therefore prayers are always welcome.

Two benefits have been scheduled to help defray medical costs incurred by Thaemert, son of David and Bonnie Thaemert of Hamburg, who was seriously injured in an automobile accident south of Winsted June 26.

St. Mark Lutheran Church of New Germany will host a pork chop dinner, bake sale, and silent auction Sunday, Sept. 13 at the New Germany City Hall.
The day will begin with an outdoor polka service at 9 a.m. in Tower Park (behind city hall), with music by Polka Sons of Praise. Those attending are asked to bring their own lawn chairs. Inside the hall, a silent auction with more than 200 items is scheduled, as is a bake sale.

Dinner will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will also include an antique car and tractor show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ticket prices for those 12 to adult are $9 at the door, or $8 in advance. Children aged five to 11 are $4, and children age 4 or younger are free.

Advance tickets are available by calling Security Bank New Germany at (952) 353-2221 or St. Mark Lutheran Church at (952) 353-2464.

Pork chops were provided by Carver County Pork Producers, and additional funds were provided by Thrivent.

A second fundraiser has been scheduled Saturday, Oct. 24 from 3 to 11 p.m. at the Mayer Community Center.
A silent auction and bake sale will run from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. A live auction will begin at 7 p.m. Music will run from 8 to 11 p.m., and food will be available from 4 to 8 p.m.
