Elders Nest assisted living now open in Waverly Minnesota

SPONSORED POST – It’s been a long journey for Michael and Cherene Beatty, the owners of The Elders Nest, LLC located in Waverly Minnesota just 43 miles from the Twin Cities. Having previously operated assisted living homes in the state of Washington, the couple has brought two family-friendly assisted living homes to Minnesota near the Howard Lake, Delano, Buffalo, Cokato area.

Construction began in the summer of 2019 on these two amazing assisted living facilities and the two homes were originally scheduled to open June 1, 2020. However, state licensing delays brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic compounded with a series of new regulations associated with assisted living facilities pushed the opening date to Nov. 4, 2021.
Elders Nest assisted living homes of Waverly feature: six private bedrooms, bathrooms with walk-in bathtubs, a full kitchen, dining area, living room, heated garage, and finished basements for live-in caregivers.
Additionally, Elders Nest assisted living homes maintains a 24/7 professional staff of ten individuals including: one live-in director, a registered nurse, and eight caregivers.
“Our caregivers have time to spend one-on-one with the residents, visiting, doing crafts, taking them outside for fresh air and sun daily,” said Cherene.

Both homes feature a full kitchen and dining area where dinners are frequently held for family and friends of residents.

Further, Elders Nest assisted living homes residents will have access to health care services at all times.
“Skin checks, mood, bowel care, range of motion, fall prevention, are most assuredly done and cared for by a professional caregiver,” Cherene said.
The Beatty’s hope to provide a unique assisted living experience, for the surrounding area emphasizing a small community family-like atmosphere, and a commitment to residents’ comfort and convenience making each resident feel at home. The residents where ever they are from be it Dassel, Cokato, Hutchinson, Howard Lake, Buffalo or Delano and rest assured they will have a great experience.
“The Elders Nest policy is to avoid rigid schedules for our residents,” Michael said. “Breakfast happens here all morning long. Residents who sleep longer in the morning are allowed to do so, and their breakfast is prepared once they get up.”
“We try to have supper for everyone near the same time in the evening to encourage companionship between the residents.”
Delicious home cooked meals follow the family-style concept. The Beattys pride themselves that no “cafeteria-style food will be found at The Elders Nest assisted living homes.
Residents are encouraged to have visitors, as they are an important part of The Elders Nest assisted living experience. Staff happily greet residents, family, and friends by name when they come through the door.
“There are no strangers here,” Cherene assured. “Coffee and snacks are always available for visitors, and dinners are frequently held for family and friends of our residents.”
Currently there are 10 available spots at the two Elders Nest assisted living homes, but those spots are expected to be filled by March according to Michael.
