Dense fog advisory issued by Nat’l Weather Service

DASSEL-COKATO, MN — A dense fog advisory was issued by the National Weather Service starting at 4 p.m. today and lasting through Saturday morning.  This advisory affects Wright, Meeker, and McLeod Counties.

Details are as follows: DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT

, Dense Fog Will Affect Much Of Central And South Central
Minnesota Into Saturday Morning,

.Light Air Flow And Very Moist Air Will Result In Dense Fog Across
Much Of Central And South Central Minnesota This Evening And
Tonight. A Dense Fog Advisory Is In Effect For Areas From Roughly
New London To Monticello To Minneapolis Southward Towards Redwood
Falls, Mankato, Red Wing, Owatonna, Albert Lea, And Fairmont.
Visibility Will Decrease This Evening And Likely Fall To One
Quarter Mile Or Less Across Much Of The Advisory Area, With
Visibility Near Zero At Times. Visibility Is Expected To Improve During
The Morning Hours Saturday. Untreated Road Surfaces May Become
Slick As The Fog Thickens.

* Visibility, One Quarter Mile Or Less.

* Impacts, Scattered Slick Spots On Untreated Roadways.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions,

A Dense Fog Advisory Means Visibilities Will Frequently Be
Reduced To Less Than One Quarter Mile. If Driving, Slow Down,
Use Your Headlights, And Leave Plenty Of Distance Ahead Of You.
