DELANO, MN – March is “Minnesota Food Share” month, according to a proclamation from the Delano City Council.

At the city council meeting Tuesday, Mayor Joe McDonald urged residents to give to the Delano Food Shelf. Usage of the food shelf has been increasing, he said. In Minnesota, there was a 25 percent increase in food shelf visits from 2008 to 2009, McDonald added.

“They are alarming statistics,” he said.

The Delano Food Shelf is located at 140 Elm Avenue.
