The Delano Area Educational Foundation (DAEF) Caribbean gala, complete with music, fun, and food, will be Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Rockford Twp. Hall.
The 2010 gala fundraiser, “Treasures  of the Caribbean” includes a night of treasures such as appetizers, donation bar, silent and live auctions, raffles, and tunes provided by DJ and Delano teacher, John Fitzer.
The dinner will be catered by B’s on the River and will feature a tropical green salad with pineapple and papaya, coconut chicken breast, and more.
DAEF was founded in 2003 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation with a mission to enrich the learning experiences of all students in District 879 by helping them achieve academic excellence.  Last year, the foundation awarded $26,050 in grant money to Delano Schools.
Tickets for the 2010 gala are currently on sale for $40 per person at the State Bank of Delano, Absolute Automotive, any district school office, and through the Paypal link at www.delano.k12.mn.us.
