City Council to consider annexation request Tuesday, June 20

DELANO, MN – Delano City Council will conduct a public hearing and consider an annexation request from Organix Solutions, a subsidiary of Randy’s Environmental Services, during its meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 20.

City Planner Alan Brixius said in a memo to the council that Organix Solutions is petitioning the city to annex a 5.58-acre triangular parcel of land adjacent to the existing Randy’s Environmental Services material recovery facility located off of Highway 12 in north Delano.

“The proposed project is consistent with the 2012 extraterritorial land use map, which designates this as a growth area and guides this property for industrial/commercial use,” Brixius wrote. “Water and sewer service have been extended into this area previously per the extraterritorial land use plan.”

In other business, the council is expected to:

• consider a request from El Molcajete to allow an outdoor dining expansion at 45 Babcock Blvd.

• consider a request from Lennar Homes for final plat approval for Highland Ridge Fifth Addition.

• approve the appointments of Lukas Gardner and Kaleb Fish as probationary members of the Delano Fire Department and accept the resignation of firefighter Eric Knoop.

• authorize the purchase of a John Deere mower from Minnesota Equipment for about $12,617, including a $5,000 trade-in for the 2015 model currently used by public works.
