DELANO, MN – Great Scott. The Delano Area Chamber of Commerce is going back to the ‘80s.
The annual DACC celebration dinner is set for Saturday, April 6 at the Delano American Legion. Stahlke Bus Service has been selected as the 2019 Business of the Year by the DACC and will be formally recognized at the event.
“Stahlke Bus Service has been a long-standing, successful member of our business community, and this recognition is very appropriate, as they recently celebrated more than 70 years in business,” said DACC Executive Director Ryan Gueningsman.
The event will feature happy hour beginning at 6 p.m., an all-you-can-eat buffet at 7 p.m., and the silent and live auctions and business of the year recognition will follow. Past DACC President Brad Felknor of Felknor and Associates will also receive his presidential plaque.
Following the brief program, live music by The M8Ds, sponsored by Minnesota Lakes Bank and Brandt Companies, will take place. The M8Ds, described as “a Cheap Trick meets Blink 182 version of ‘80s pop dance tunes,” began when two guys simply set out to do something that rocks. The band enjoys bringing the music of the 1980s with a pop-punk twist to the masses. The band features Chris Colway, Tim Walterson, Kurt Bakken, and Brian on bass.
CorTrust Bank will provide party favors and décor. A limited number of tickets will be sold and are available at Minnesota Lakes Bank, CorTrust Bank, Coborn’s, and the DACC office. The cost is $25 per person.
“This is an event that is for both chamber and community,” Gueningsman said. “Each year, we get a nice mix of chamber members and folks from the area.”
Silent/live auction items are being sought. Contact the DACC office at 763-972-6756 to donate or for more information.
