DELANO, MN - Cost-reduction measures are on the agenda for Monday night’s Delano School Board meeting. Issues for discussion include the middle school part-time music position, the employee assistance program, and an increase in parking fees. I-94 westbound lane project through Albertville begins April 23; evening lane restrictions expected through May 11

ALBERTVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter delays on westbound Interstate 94 in Albertville between Highway 241 and County Road 19 as construction of the westbound Iinterstate 94 collector-distributor road project begins.

On Monday, April 23, from 9:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M. traffic will be reduced to one lane in the westbound direction. Evening lane restrictions are expected through May 11. All travel lanes will be opened during daytime and peak traffic hours.

The work is part of the westbound collector-distributor road project that will allow westbound I-94 traffic to access County Road 19. Construction will be on-going through December , 2012.

Motorists are urged to slow down, pay attention and watch for workers while traveling in the construction zone.

Candidates sought for Montrose Royal Ambassadors - informational meeting Thursday

There’s still time to join Delano’s community choir

DELANO, MN – Any adult interested in singing with the Delano community choir is encouraged to come to any of the practices, which take place from 7 to 8 p.m. in the new high school choir room:

• Monday, April 23
• Monday, April 30
• Monday, May 7
• Thursday, May 17

“It’s totally free,” director Andrew Beard said. “We welcome newcomers, even if you’re not able to make all the rehearsals.”

The community choir will perform at the Delano High School choir concert Monday, May 21 at 7:30 p.m.

Blood drive coming up in Delano in May

Delano and surrounding resident’s can be a summer lifesaver and make a difference in the lives of others by donating blood through the American Red Cross. Every day, blood is needed for people with blood disorders, cancer patients, transplant recipients, trauma victims and many others.
