DELANO, MN - Delano will be hosting the eighth annual Relay For Life at the Delano City Park July 27-28.
To learn more about this event fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, Relay organizers are hosting an open house Sunday, Jan. 22 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Light of Christ Church in Delano. Interested parties can find out what’s involved in starting or participating on a team, ways to fundraise, and learn how to help “create a world with more birthdays.”

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown, Minnesota. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services on Friday. Interment is scheduled to occur Saturday at the Sand Hill Lutheran Cemetery in Climax, Minnesota.

DELANO, MN - Organizers are seeking items for a silent auction planned to take place Friday, Jan. 20 at 6 p.m. at the American Legion in Delano. All products, services, and works of art are welcome as donations.
There will also be raffle drawings the day of the event.
All proceeds of the event will go to the Helping Hands Food Shelf in Delano.
Raffle tickets are $1 and available at the following businesses: Star West Chevrolet, Linnie’s Ice Cream, Dave’s Town Club, Delano Lanes, Delano American Legion, Pizza Ranch, McDonald’s Photography, Delano Rental, A-1 Rental in Navarre, and True Value Hardware in Mound.
Prizes in the raffle include: first prize – $500 labor on a drywall project of winner’s choice; second prize – $500 labor for a painting project of winner’s choice; third prize – $20 cash; fourth prize – $20 cash.
Raffle winners need not be present to win, and prizes may be gifted to a friend or relative.

DELANO, MN - The General Federated Women’s Club of Delano is planning its annual snowflake luncheon for Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Delano Legion, located at Highway 12 and Bridge Avenue in Delano. Social time is set for 11:30 a.m. with the luncheon to follow at noon. Entertainment and prizes will be provided.

DELANO, MN - The Delano Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for Delano’s 2012 business of the year award. The chamber ambassadors will review all nominations at the January 2012 meeting. Submit nominations by Sunday, Jan. 15.
