WRIGHT COUNTY, MN – The friends and co-workers of the late Wright County Deputy Dan Lang of Buffalo (not the former Howard Lake police chief) have organized a benefit Saturday, Aug. 1. for his family.
The benefit will start with a motorcycle ride leaving at 1 p.m. from Cowboyz Bar in Rockford. The tour will take approximately four hours, arriving at the Buffalo Bar and Grill about 5 p.m. The event will include an outdoor concert with live music provided by the Mooseknuckle Bros. from 6 to 10 p.m.
There will also be a silent auction with many great items up for auction.
A small cover charge will get individuals into the event. Food will be available for a small donation to the family. All proceeds will go directly to Lang’s family.
According to his friends, Lang resided in Buffalo, but worked to protect and serve all the communities of Wright County.
Lang was employed by the Wright County Sheriff’s Department from 2003 to the time of his death. He was previously a Hennepin County corrections officer.
Lang is survived by his wife and two sons, who still reside in Buffalo. Lang died June 2 as a result of a motorcycle accident in Minneapolis.
According to his friends and family, Lang was passionate about motorcycles and died doing what he loved.
His family and friends have scheduled the benefit to assist the family with expenses, resulting from the accident, and to help his two sons pay for college and other expenses.
