MONTROSE, MN – The next Montrose City Council meeting will take place Monday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Montrose Community Center.
A few items on the agenda include the retirement of Dave Hausladen (who has served on the fire department 29 years), the 2012 appointments and fee schedule, and utility billing adjustments for 2011, among other items.

MONTROSE, MN – A truth-in-taxation hearing is one item on the agenda for the Monday, Dec. 12 Montrose City Council meeting, which will take place at 7 p.m. in the Montrose Community Center.
The council plans to adopt the 2012 budget and levy, consider water and sewer rate increases, and more.
Also, the city is planning a movie night Friday, Jan. 13 at the community center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a light supper, with “Kung Fu Panda 2″ beginning at 7 p.m. Cost for the movie is a food shelf item.
MONTROSE, MN – The next Montrose Economic Development Authority (EDA) meeting is set for Monday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. in the Montrose Community Center.
A few items on the agenda include an update on the Montrose-Waverly Chamber of Commerce, a business recruitment report, and a Highway 12 redevelopment report, among other items.
DELANO, MN – Throughout the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 7, Delano Middle School (DMS) students will be participating in a variety of activities to benefit local people in need.

Students in grades five through eight will have the opportunity to make fleece blankets, write letters to active duty service men and women, sing carols around Delano, collect gently used winter outerwear for veterans, bake cookies for Smile Network, help preschoolers write letters to Santa, read with young students, or other projects.
The outreach is an effort to develop a sense of community in DMS, while helping students recognize the needs of others.
