DELANO, MN - The Delano Council 4653 Knights of Columbus and the St. Mary of Czestochowa Men’s Club will be hosting a pancake, sausage, and french toast breakfast Sunday, Jan. 29 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The event will take place at St. Mary of Czestochowa, located at 1967 95th Street, off Co. Rd. 13 in rural Delano.
The cost is a free-will offering, with proceeds going to the Delano and Watertown area food shelves.

MONTROSE, MN – Montrose Suzuki Kids String Instruction Program is hosting its annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser Friday, Jan. 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Montrose Elementary School.
Enjoy a delicious spaghetti dinner (with or without meatballs), garlic bread, tossed salad, drink and a variety of desserts. There will be great music, hourly drawings for prizes, face painting, wacky hair, and Root Beer floats (in addition to the dessert table).
Tickets can be purchased for a reduced price at the Montrose Elementary School office until Thursday, Jan. 26 — $6 for adults, $5 for students, 4 and under are free. At the door, tickets cost $8 for adults, $6 for students, 4 and under are still free.
DELANO, MN - The Delano School District is seeking applications for an unexpired term on the school board through appointment by the school board.
The person appointed will serve until Dec. 31, 2012. The seat will be on the ballot at the Nov. 6 election, and it will be for a two-year term.
This is the remainder of Erika Kluge Frake’s term. She resigned at the Jan. 5 organizational meeting of the school board.
Applications must be filed by noon Friday, Feb. 3 at the school district office.

DELANO, MN - The seventh and eighth grade singing ensembles from Delano Middle School
will be performing a concert Saturday, Jan. 28 to benefit teen mental
health from 2:30 to 5 p.m.
All proceeds will benefit the Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health.
The filing period has ended for the local townships that have elections Tuesday, March 13.
Franklin Township
Incumbent John Czanstkowski Sr. was the only person who filed for a three-year position on the Franklin Township board.
Marysville Township
Marysville Township has one seat open, for the supervisor position currently served by Augie Riebel.
Riebel re-filed for the supervisor position.
Rockford Township
Two three-year seats are up for election in Rockford Township, with John Deitering and Karen McDougall (incumbent) filing.
Woodland Township
Woodland Township features two open seats. Supervisor Jim Trombley’s position is up, as well as Clerk Gloria Janikula’s position.
Dan Domjahn filed for the supervisor position, and Janikula re-filed for the clerk position. Trombley did not re-file.
