First-ever Montrose-Waverly craft fair wraps up

craftWAVERLY, MN – The first-ever Montrose-Waverly Craft and Community Fair is winding down in Waverly today. The event featured live music, book readings by local authors, horse-drawn carriage rides, and plenty of food and fun for the whole family.
The festivities took place at Railroad Park in Waverly, just off of Highway 12.

The Montrose-Waverly Chamber of Commerce spent the past eight months planning it.

Tom Emmer is endorsed by Republicans

emState Rep. Tom Emmer of Delano has been officially endorsed by the Republican Party as a candidate for Minnesota governor.

Previously, delegates to the party’s state convention in Minneapolis gave 53 percent of their first ballots to Emmer and 43 percent to Seifert, with other candidates splitting the rest. It takes  at least 60 percent of the 1,988 voting delegates to win endorsement.

Whooping cough breaks out in Wright Co.

WRIGHT COUNTY, MN – Pertussis, commonly known as whooping cough, has been confirmed in more than 40 people in the Maple Lake area along with a few cases in Annandale and Monticello, according to Wright County Public Health.

Producers take good care of their animals, Extension Service says

ST. PAUL, MN — There was a time in our nation’s history when many people lived on a farm or had close relatives who owned a farm, according to Marcia Endres of the University of Minnesota Extension Service.

“Most consumers today have no direct relationship to livestock producers. Many have a close relationship with their pets and love animals, so they want to know how animals are cared for on the farm.
