BUFFALO, MN – The Wright County Historical Society (WCHS) recently announced it has been chosen to receive the Smithsonian’s traveling exhibit entitled “Journey Stories,” which tells tales of how ancestors came to America.
To supplement this 700-square-foot exhibit, the WCHS is also collecting local stories based on different themes.
Shown are Ed Vandergon of Silver Creek Township, left, at a barracks in Idaho with an unknown sergeant. Vandergon was wounded at Pearl Harbor Dec. 7, 1941.
The Wright County Historical Society is searching for ’snapshots’ of an experience, possibly poignant or funny, such as a culture shock event, making the transition from working on the farm to being in Germany, or filling sand bags during Hurricane Katrina.
Stories can be from many years ago or current, and any pictures associated with the individual involved would be greatly appreciated. Please click here to submit a story or photo.
