Art show begins Tuesday at Delano Public Library

Art show begins Tuesday at Delano Public Library
The Delano Public Library will host an open house Tuesday, Oct. 7 from
6 to 8 p.m. to begin its 23rd annual art show.
Refreshments donated by Apple Jack Orchards will be served by the
Friends of the Delano Library.
This year during the open house, the Delano Art Guild will set up a
still life arrangement and provide paint, brushes, and advice for
anyone that would like to paint the still life. Anyone may
participate.
Hopefully, many people will add to the work, so the painting will be
completed when the open house ends at 8 p.m.
Jan Johnson will present during the open house program. She will
demonstrate rug hooking and will have finished rugs available to view.
The art show will be displayed from Tuesday, Oct. 7 through Friday,
Oct. 31, throughout the library.
This event is sponsored by the Delano Public Library, Delano Friends
of the Library, and Delano Art Guild.
For more information about the exhibit or open house, contact Mary Ann
Bernat at (763) 972-6274, or the Delano Public Library at (763)

First clue released for medallion hunt

First clue released for medallion hunt
The annual Fall Harvest Festival Medallion Hunt will begin soon.
Here is a head start for all medallion hunters, courtesy of the Delano Area Chamber of Commerce. Remember – the hunt doesn’t actually start until 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept.27, so one has almost two weeks to figure out the first clue.
You will receive subsequent clues at each stop along the way, and you must show your clues at each stop to receive the next. The one who finds the chamber of commerce medallion first will receive a gift basket. For a peek at what the medallion looks like, visit www.delanochamber.com. The clue is:
A place to learn, a place to grow
We’ll teach you things you didn’t know
Beautiful things for all to share
Will grow for you because we care
From Oak to Elm we’ve got you covered
But there is more to be
discovered
Farm with us from morn until sup
And you’ll get growing from the ground up
