Juvenile arrested in Delano – sheriff’s office checking for ties to string of burglaries

DELANO, MN – Wright County Sheriff Joe Hagerty reported that on Saturday, Aug. 13 at approximately 11:45 a.m., the Wright County Sheriff’s Office communication center received a call of a suspicious person near the Delano library. Deputies were dispatched to the area, where they spoke with a 17 year old juvenile male who initially gave them a false name. The juvenile’s real identity was verified. He was found to be from New Praque, and also had a felony warrant for his arrest out of Scott County. Upon arresting the juvenile, deputies located a stolen handgun in his bag. The juvenile was then transported to the Wright County Jail.

Wright County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating the case to see if there are any ties to a string of residential burglaries that have occurred in the City of Delano within the past several weeks.
