Delano public hearing: development application

Notice is hereby given that the Delano Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter on Monday, December 12, 2022, at the Delano City Hall, located at 234 2nd Street North, for the purpose of considering a development application West End Condo’s LLC, for a Site and Building Plan Review and Conditional Use Permit and Building Plan Review and Conditional Use Permit and zoning map amendment from I-2 General Industrial to I-2 General Industrial PUD for the construction of a multi building self-storage facility in Delano Minnesota legally described as follows.

Notice is further given that any written or oral comments from citizens regarding the proposed plats and conditional use permit will be heard at the public hearing. Going for gold: Delano freshman moves to next phase of phase of US Figure Skating

Delano High School (DHS) freshman Keara Korba recently achieved the highest accomplishment in individual figure skating testing. Korba completed her senior moves in the field test for US Figure Skating Wednesday, Oct. 26, and has now earned the title “US Figure Skating Gold Medalist.”
According to the US Figure Skating website, the test structure is considered the foundation of US Figure Skating and determines a skater’s competition level. Test sessions feature a panel of US Figure Skating officials and are hosted by clubs across the country and offer skaters the opportunity to highlight their abilities and advance to the next level. When a skater passes the final test in a given pathway, they earn the designation of US Figure Skating Gold Medalist.

Dick Jordan inducted into softball hall of fame

Throughout his illustrious 33-year career with multiple local teams, Dick Jordan was arguably the top modified pitch pitcher in Minnesota, winning many local tournaments, seven state titles, and even 11 national tournament appearances.
Jordan was one of 22 individuals inducted into the Minnesota Softball Hall of Fame at the 32nd Minnesota Softball Hall of Fame Banquet that took place Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Grand Casino in Hinckley.

Braun Fire burns 117 acres of grassland and wetlands in Franklin Township

Local fire departments responded to a large grass and wetland fire that burned 117 acres in Franklin Township Wednesday, Nov. 2.
Flames and smoke could be seen by residents from miles around, but luckily no one was reported to have been seriously injured. No structures were damaged in the fire.
