Update: Steven Keesling, 18, and Charles Bentley, 22, both of Rockford, were arrested in Rockford June 19 for first degree robbery in connection with the robbery that occurred at the Casey’s store in Rockford June 17. Wright County Sheriff Joe Hagerty stated that he appreciates the public’s willingness to help solve this crime.
WRIGHT COUNTY, MN – An armed robbery occurred at Casey’s General Store in Rockford June 17, according to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
At about 10:50 p.m., deputies responded to a hold-up alarm at the store.
An employee reported that two white males about 6 feet tall with thin builds entered the store wearing black hooded sweatshirts and blue bandanas covering their faces. One of the individuals had a black handgun, and the other had a short-barreled shotgun.
The suspects obtained an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled on foot.
A K9 search was conducted in the area, but was unsuccessful. The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
