Fall clean-up reminders from Franklin Township

While you are preparing your home and farm for the quickly approaching Minnesota fall and winter seasons, please remember:
SAFETY: Trim all brush that is leaning into the roadway, covering up road signs or covering address/911 signs.
CULVERTS: Help avoid springtime flooding. Completely clear leaves, sticks and other things that have made their home in your driveway culvert before winter hits! Make sure you can see through the culvert. Franklin Township is only responsible for culverts that cross township roads.
SNOW REMOVAL: When you clear snow from your driveways, do not push it onto the township road. You are responsible for piling your snow on your property, not a township road. It is dangerous for the snowplow driver to hit a pile of snow left on the road, as it often turns to an ice block.
PARKING: From November 1 to April 30, Franklin Township requests that you not park overnight or for extended periods on Township roads to facilitate snow removal. Sometimes, even days after a snowfall, the township touches up the roads and spreads gravel or salt.
