The Delano 2009 Citizen of the Year banquet tickets are now available. Ted May will be honored Saturday, April 4 at the Delano American Legion. Tickets will be available at Downtown Beauty Salon during regular business hours.
Tickets may also be purchased from individual General Federated Women’s Club members.
A new weight loss challenge will begin Monday, Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Full Circle Fitness in Delano.

a breakfast on Feb. 21 at Applebee’s from 8-10 a.m.

Delano High School. All proceeds benefit the 2009

Thursday, Feb. 12 at 11:45 a.m. at the Waverly Cafe.

Open house Tuesday for Highway 12 construction in Independence
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is planning to
construct a new, four-lane railroad bridge over Highway 12 near the
Maple Plain/Independence border.
As part of the project, Highway 12 will be closed at Hennepin County
Road 90 for a month during the fall of 2009 and from about April 15 to
Nov. 15, 2010. Traffic will be detoured north and south of Highway 12.
MnDOT will be holding an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10.
at Independence City Hall.
The open house will give residents and business owners the opportunity
to discuss the project and detour routes with MnDOT officials. Written
comments will be collected.
