Task force meeting Tuesday
The Delano Area Chamber of Commerce’s Highway 12 Open for Business
Task Force will meet Tuesday, March 3 at 9 a.m. at the State Bank of
Delano’s lower level meeting room.
Task force meetings are open to the public. A new “power lunch”
initiative will be unveiled at this meeting.

Jaycee Supershots Saturday at TAC
The Delano Jaycee Supershots basketball competition is set to take
place Saturday, March 7 (note date change) at the Delano High School
Tiger Activity Center.
Registration beings at 10 a.m. with competition to follow. Supershots
is a free basketball skills competition program for children in grades
4 through 9.

Montrose Days fish fry Friday
The Montrose Days Committee is hosting a fish fry Friday, March 6 from
5 to 8 p.m .at the Montrose Community Center.
The menu includes fish, potatoes, coleslaw, bread, milk and coffee.
The cost is $7 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-11, and free for
children ages 4 and under.
Royal sundaes will be available from the Montrose Royalty for an
additional cost. There will also be a silent auction.
All proceeds will benefit Montrose Days 2009, which is scheduled for
Friday through Sunday, Aug. 21-23.
Daylight Savings begins Sunday, March 8
Daylight Savings time begins 2 a.m. Sunday, March 8. It’s time to set
clocks forward one hour (spring forward, fall back).
Local fire departments also recommend replacing the batteries in smoke
detectors at this time.

The Delano 2009 Citizen of the Year banquet tickets are now available. Ted May will be honored Saturday, April 4 at the Delano American Legion. Tickets will be available at Downtown Beauty Salon during regular business hours.
Tickets may also be purchased from individual General Federated Women’s Club members.
