Switch to digital will impact Delano TVs

Television sets that are in Delano will be affected by the switch from an analog to digital signal in February.  Television sets that use rabbit ears will require an adapter that costs about $60.  The government is offering $40 coupons that will defray this cost.  You may apply for up to two (2) coupons on the following web site: www.dtv2009.gov. The Delano Area Chamber of Commerce’s Highway 12 Task Force will be meeting Tuesday, Dec. 16 at State Bank of Delano’s lower level meeting room at 9 a.m.
On the agenda includes an update on the proposed hotel project in Delano. This meeting is open to the public.

The Delano Loretto Area United Way is sending out new funding applications to those agencies interested in applying for funding for 2009.

Early deadlines

Early deadlines
Due to the holiday press schedule, early newspaper copy is needed for the last two weeks of December. Copy for the Monday, Dec. 22 edition, and the Monday, Dec. 29 edition, is due by noon Wednesday, Dec. 17 and Wednesday, Dec. 24.
In addition, holiday hours will apply, with the Delano Herald Journal office being closed at noon Christmas Eve. The office will also be closed Friday, Dec. 26.
