Delano blood drive Monday, Aug. 18
The American Red Cross will be in Delano at the Delano American Legion
Monday, Aug. 18 from 1 to 7 p.m.
The American Red Cross has announced two changes in guidelines for
prospective donors.
The changes are:
• 16-year-olds may now donate blood. Parents must sign a consent form,
prior to the 16-year-old donating. The signed form must be brought to
the blood drive the day of the event. Call either phone number listed
below to receive the form and other important information about
donating blood.
• Donors who have had cancer may be eligible to donate again. The
guidelines state that at least one year must have passed since the
donor’s last cancer treatment. Donors must be reinstated before they
will be eligible to participate in the Aug. 18 blood drive.
Organizers encourage everyone to consider giving the gift of life.
Donors may schedule an appointment or receive more information by
calling Angie at (763) 972-2838 or Mary at (763) 972-6270.
