A customer appreciation barbecue event will take place Wednesday, Aug.
20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Star West Chevrolet-Honda Sports.
The event is sponsored by Frontier Communications. Hot dogs, beans,
and beverages will be provided, and people attending can meet the
local Frontier Communications team.

Garage Sale Days this weekend
The 22nd annual garage sale days will be taking place Thursday, Aug.
14 through Saturday, Aug. 16 in Delano.

Open house at city hall Wednesday
The City of Delano is hosting an open house Wednesday, Aug. 13 from 4
to 7 p.m. at the Delano City Hall.
This open house is the city’s way to provide residents with
information regarding all services the city provides.
Members of the various city commissions and boards will be present,
and equipment from the fire department, public works department, and
Delano Municipal Utilities (DMU) will be displayed.
A complimentary dinner of hotdogs, cookies, chips, and root beer will
be served.
Delano High School class of ‘68 reunion Saturday
The Delano High School class of 1968 will be hosting its 40th reunion
at B’s on the River Saturday, Aug. 16.
If any class members have not received an invitation, call (763) 972-8410.
The class is inviting DHS alumni, former teachers, and friends to join
in at the reunion after 8 p.m.
Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser Sat.
A pig roast to help raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis research will take
place Saturday, Aug. 16 at the Schumacher farm (4695 Highway 55) in
Loretto.
A pig roast will take place from 3 to 7 p.m., with live entertainment,
featuring Wobblebox and Jack Knife and the Sharps beginning at 5:30
p.m. and going until 1 a.m.

Delano blood drive Monday, Aug. 18
The American Red Cross will be in Delano at the Delano American Legion
Monday, Aug. 18 from 1 to 7 p.m.
The American Red Cross has announced two changes in guidelines for
prospective donors.
The changes are:
• 16-year-olds may now donate blood.
• Donors who have had cancer may be eligible to donate again.
