Weather sirens to sound Thurs.
In observance of Tornado Awareness Week April 21-25, sirens in the City of Delano  will sound at 1:45 and 6:45 p.m. Thursday, April 24.

The Delano Area Chamber of Commerce’s Good Morning Delano will take place from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Lloyd Griep’s State Farm Insurance on Babcock Boulevard.

Knights of Columbus luncheon Tues.

The Delano Knights of Columbus Council 4653 Ladies Auxiliary will host its annual spring salad luncheon Tuesday, April 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the dining hall at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
A large selection of salads, bars, breads, and buns will be available. There will also be take-out. The cost is $6 for adults.

Cub Scouts host cake auction Monday, April 14

Cub Scouts host cake auction tonight
Delano Cub Scout Pack 273 is hosting its annual Cub Scout Cake Auction Monday, April 14 at the Light of Christ Church in Delano.
Bidder registration begins at 6:30 p.m. The auction starts at approximately 6:45 p.m. and goes for about an hour.
Not only will there be fine bakery items to bid on – from Grandma’s delicious carrot cake to the cake artfully decorated by a young Tiger Scout – it is also a chance to meet the boys and their parents and visit with other business leaders in the community.
The Cub Scout Cake Auction is one of only a few events that the group hosts to fund Pack 273. Proceeds are used to fund pack meetings, supplies for den activities, and awards for advancement.

Hwy. 12 detour set to start at 4 p.m. Tuesday

The detour route for Highway 12 through Delano is set to go into effect today - Tuesday, April 8 at 4 p.m. From the east, the detour will begin at County Line Road and Highway 12, with trafic being routed north on County Line Road to Wright County Road 30 to a temporary stoplight. From there, traffic will be routed west on Wright County Road 30 to River Street (Co. Rd. 17). Traffic will head south again on River Street to Bridge Avenue, making a right turn onto Bridge Avenue, crossing the Crow River, and ending up back on Highway 12 near the Delano American Legion.

It is important to note all businesses remain open during the detour routes. See maps provided by the Highway 12 task force and the City of Delano for more details.

Tiger Fun Fair Saturday, April 12

The 3rd Annual Tiger Fun Fair is this Saturday, April 12 from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Tiger Activity Center. Bring your appetite for food and fun to the fair hosted by the Delano Elementary PIE Group.

This admission free event will include, a joust/bungee fun inflatable, a 60 foot castle inflatable obstacle course, the Tiger moon walk, over 45 games and activities, food, prizes, Mister Petals the Clown and the Tiger Dance Team clinic will be performing.

A silent auction with themed baskets will be conducted from 4-7 p.m.

All of the games, activities and food can be purchased with tickets that are .25 cents each. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
