Franklin Township


Franklin Township Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Denise Olson, Clerk/Treasurer Geri Hagelin, and Supervisors John Czanstkowski Sr., Mike Barfknecht, and Bill McMullen.

The Franklin Township hall and shop, 8735 Wright County Road 16 SE, is located one mile south of the Delano Dairy Queen, and is the official polling place for all general, primary, and township elections.

The Franklin Township board meets at the town hall the first Monday of each month, at 7 p.m. (except when the meeting date falls on a holiday, in which case meetings are the following Tuesday at 7 p.m.).

The town board consists of three elected supervisors, one appointed clerk/treasurer, and one appointed deputy clerk/treasurer.

Franklin Township’s road maintenance staff consists of two full-time employees.

The township road right-of-way is usually 66 feet (33 feet from the center of the township road). A good rule of thumb is to keep everything back 15 feet from the edge of the right-of-way. To obtain the required permit to work within the township right-of-way, please call the township clerk/treasurer.

Driveway/culvert permits are required. Call any board member to get this permit before starting any work.

911 signs are required and cost $65 for the sign, post, delivery and installation. Call the clerk/treasurer to order.

Burning permits

Burning permits are required and cost $2 for a three-day permit. Call any board member to get a burning permit.

Recycling

Curbside recycling for every resident of Franklin Township is picked up the second and fourth Wednesday of every month. A recycling schedule, along with pertinent township information, is mailed out each April to every township resident.

Sanitation

Franklin Township does not provide sanitation services. Contact a local garbage hauler for information on pick-ups.
